 Travel Guidance

Essential Travel Guidance for Travel to Canada

Effective April 1st, 2022, fully vaccinated travellers are no longer required to provide a pre-entry COVID19 test but are subject to random testing on arrival.  

The Government of Canada Travel site has all the information you need on travelling to, from and within Canada.

 

Entry to Canada 

It is important to visit COVID-19:Travel,Testing and Borders regularly before your departure date from home and download the ArriveCAN app to input your travel plans and upload your vaccination certificates within 72 hours of arrival in Canada.
This is mandatory for all travellers to Canada including Canadian residents returning to Canada. Click HERE on how to use ArriveCAN.

By Air to Pearson International Airport:

A.  As you exit from the Customs area into the main hall, take the ramp to your left and you will immediately see the escalator on the other side of the hall

B. Take the escalator to the upper level and walk across the walkway immediately to your right to the parking garage

C. Turn left and follow the signs to the UP Express to arrive at the train platform where you will purchase your tickets (about $10 CAD each and ask for the Senior’s discounted rate)

D. Train departs every half hour and it’s a 30 minute ride to Union Station (which is like Grand Central Station in NY)

E. When you arrive at Union Station, exit to your right where you will the entrance to Union Station building

F. Immediately then turn left to exit outside to York St. on your left

G. Take a short taxi ride (recommended) to the Sheraton Centre Hotel or walk 4 blocks north on York St. to Queen St.

 

 

By Air to Billy Bishop Island Airport on Lake Ontario in downtown Toronto:

A. After exiting the terminal, take the shuttle (free) to Royal York Hotel located at the corner of York Street and Front Street.

B. Take a short taxi ride (recommended) to the Sheraton Centre Hotel or walk 4 blocks north on York St. to Queen St.

Choose from these popular pre-convention excursions

Monday:  Niagara Falls day bus tour and Mass at Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Guelph, Ontario -  US$70 per person (includes a donation to the Basilica)

Tuesday: 2-hour Harbor Boat Cruise and lunch plus walking tour of harbor - US$100 per person (includes transport to and from hotel)

Wednesday:  Optional lunch at the 360 Revolving Restaurant at CN Tower and Lookout views of Toronto from 1500 feet high = US$130 per person (includes transport and all admittance fees to CN Tower and the Lookout Deck)

Wednesday evening:  Mass and light dinner at St. Augustine’s Seminary - US$80 per person (includes transport and a donation to the seminary)
